Special Inspections

In addition to the various engineering services we provide, Sinclair Pratt

Cameron, P.C. can also perform Special Inspections - both on projects which we

design and projects designed outside our office.

Essentially, Special Inspections is a systematic procedure for ensuring that those
structural items that are critical to the building’s safety and stability      are constructed in accordance with the Contract Documents.

  • Typically the Engineer of Record heads up the team of inspectors and assembles a schedule of the structural elements that require inspection.

  • The testing lab is responsible for materials testing.

  • The Special Inspector keeps records of all inspections and furnishes inspection reports to the code official and to the engineer or architect of record.

  • After all of the deficiencies are corrected, a Final Report of Special Inspections is prepared for the governing Building Official.
